type3music is a world relief organization for artist musicians, singer-songwriters, and bands that provides them with paths to long-term sustainability and gives listeners the opportunity to discover them.

Initially, in 2007 type3music started as a stealth research project to learn and understand the real situation artists found themselves in (still) after existing in a post-Internet world for some time.

Over time type3music has given and helped support many artists in various aspects of their career. Done so in a way that garnered ourselves no promotion or visibility (or pats on the back). This was to stay focused on our purpose. Which has always been to understand the future more than the past and understand the true give and take between the people that love to listen and/or own music and the young new artists looking to answer their calling and create it for them.

This has been 5 years of putting oneself in the middle of it in a very faceless impartial way. 

As of 2012, we are setting out to begin the realization of one of the most critical findings from our research - which is how should a modern day “world relief organization” be defined and from the get go not be limited in who it can help or how it can help them.

Thus, it should be known that type3music is being defined as a corporate non-profit entity in the United States and similar definitions for regional type3music organizations outside of North America, initially Mexico, Europe, Australia, Africa and South America will follow a similar approach.

Thank you to the artists, colleagues and believers from around the world that have contributed in various ways (or sent us notes of praise or otherwise) to carry this idea forward if for nothing else knowing there has to be a better way to give and support and create an artist-centric music industry.
